Vadym Borysov since 2001 serves as concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and assistant of conductor of the Kiev Chamber Orchestra. Before it, he occupied position of associated concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (1991-1992) and concertmaster of the Kiev Chamber Orchestra (1992-2001). During his successful orchestras career he has toured in more than 20 countries all over the world. He has performed in many prestigious concert halls included Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tonhalle Zurich, Queen Elizabeth Hall London, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Symphony Hall Osaka, Seoul Art Center, Carnegie Hall New York, Seiji Ozava Hall Tanglewood. His appearances as soloist with Kiev Chamber Orchestra described as “brilliant soloist” (Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, Germany), “extraordinary individual virtuosity” (Chicago Tribune, USA),”veritable fireworks inflamed” (Nordbayerischer Kurier, Germany).
Mr. Borysov was born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine. He graduated from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. Then masterclasses with E. Carlyss, D. Shebalin, A. Mihaly followed. As a first violin of the String Quartet of the Kiev Conservatory took part and won awards in international competitions and festivals (All Union String Quartet Competition, Orlando Music Festival). Later founded Rideamus String Quartet, which has been concertizing in festivals in Ukraine (Farbotony Fest), France (La Chaise Dieu Festival), Czech Republic (Vysochyna Festival) and USA (Adirondack Dvorak Festival).
As a teacher, Vadym Borysov serves on the String Quartet Faculty at the National Music Academy of Ukraine and leading violin class at the Lysenko Special Music School. His pupils and students are among prizewinners of international competitions in Belgium (International Competition for Young Violinists "Bravo",Namur), Switzerland (Next Generation Classic Festival Bad Ragaz), France (Bordeaux String Quartet Competition), and Italy (Reggio Emilia String Quartet Competition).
