Today "Veseli Muzyky" is definitely one of the most famous and popular musical groups performing folk music in Ukraine .
The Ensemble was established in 1981. Since the beginning of its existence in its composition following musicians are:
Honored Artist of Ukraine PAVLO BUHAR - folk wind instruments, singing;
Honored Artist of Ukraine YURIY RIZOL - drums, singing;
Honored Artist of Ukraine SERGIY HYTRYAKOV - accordion, singing, arranger, Artistic Director;
Honored Artist of Ukraine OLEKSANDR CHUKH - contrabass, singing.
Since 2010, a laureate of international competitions VALERY GOLUB has working for the Ensemble - singing, violin.
In 1987, artists were winners at the National Competition of Variety Performers. Since 1988, the Ensemble works for the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
"Veseli Muzyky" are one of the most prominent teams not only in Ukraine but also abroad. They successfully went outside Ukraine with concerts 46 times. Musicians demonstrated their skills in many countries: England, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Germany, the USA, France, Scotland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Finland. Among the ensemble performances outside Ukraine, many were held at the highest level venues. Among them – appearances before the royal family of Scotland, at the United Nations, before Presidents of Poland, Bulgaria, Finland, Estonia, Belarus, and many others. Ensemble "Veseli Muzyky" participated and was awarded as the best at many International Folk Festivals, including: Kaltenberg volkfest (1991, Germany), Folk for Peace (1990 Scotland), Makovetskaya string (1992 Slovakia), Riverfest-competition (1993 USA, Texas), International Hackbret (1995, Germany) and many others.
The Ensemble has mahy tours in Ukraine. During 2000-2008 ensemble has given more than 400 concerts in the towns and villages of Oblasts such as Kyivs’ka, Poltavs’ka, Chernihivs’ka, Dnipropetrovs’ka, Vinnyts’ka, Zakarpats'ka, Lvivs’ka, Cherkas’ka, Rivnyns’ka, Zhytomyrs’ka within the art action "Art Masters to Rural Workers."
The group has recorded five audio albums, 4 CDs with Ukrainian folk music. Two music films were shoted about Ensemble "Veseli Muzyky". It is a kind of artistic record of such genre team. All recordinings of ensemble entered the Ukrainian Radio Fund and they are broadcasted constantly.
In May 1998, the famous British firm ARC RECORDS released a CD of the Ensemble "Dancing in the village" - the first CD of Ukrainian folk music, which is successfully solding in 56 countries. During the period 1998-2006, thousands of the CD recordings of folk songs performed by Ensemble "Veseli Muzyky" were dispersed worldwide. In March 2006 the disc was re-released and continued its successful course worldwide.
In 2002, the professionalism and the outstanding artistic achievements of the Ensemble were awarded with the international prize "Golden Orpheus".
Since 2001, a soloist of the National Philharmonic, winner of national and international competitions Tetyana Shkolna (folk singing) performs with the Ensemble, as well as a Vocal Trio "Kozachka" consisting of: Nina Karzanova, Anastasia Ermakova, and Tetyana Shkolna. Co-worker of Ensemle is virtuoso cymbalist, winner of the International Competition Volodymyr Poliovchyk.
