The Quartet of guitarists "Kiev" was created in 1992 by talented artist Volodymyr Sharuyev. High culture, virtuosity, wide creative range characterise V.Sharuyev as a mature musician, experienced concert performer, whose art attracts many admirers of guitar in Ukraine and abroad.
He is a laureate of the Ukrainian contest of folk instrument performers, honoured artist of Ukraine. He runs a class of guitar at the National Musical Academy of Ukraine named after Tchaikovsky.
Members of the Volodymyr Sharuyev's quartet of guitarists are his pupils and adherents - graduates of the National Musical Academy of Ukraine. Ruslan Cheremnyx is a winner of Ukrainian contest, Oleg Grygorovych and Maria Sharuyeva are young perspective musicians, representatives of the modern performing school.
The quartet has a vast repertoire of classical and popular modern music, original compositions for guitar (Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Musorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rodrigo, Cardoso, Brower, Skoryk, Shamo, Vilenski, Theodorakis, Sokolovski and others).
Concerts of quartet "Kiev" are very successful in cities of Ukraine and abroad, far off and close one (Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, France...).

World-wide known Argentinean guitarist Jorge Cardoso was enchanted by artistic skills and professionalism of Ukrainian musicians and has presented them several his own works. Quartet has performed them for the first time in Ukraine.
